Workplace Safety

At Work Stuff Safety we realise that Safety at the workplace is not just supplying PPE. There is a wide array of Safety Equipment that goes hand in glove with PPE to provide a system or network of Safety to keep team members safe.

A key component of Workplace Safety is for your team members to view their worksite with concerned eyes. Monitoring for issues and safety risks that may arise and then eliminate the hazard, provide suitable protection to mitigate the hazard or implement Safety features to make the Workplace safe.

Some examples are creating movement corridors and separating workers from moving machines, having fire extinguishers near combustible materials, using safety steps to safely reach that top shelf and many more.

Workplace Safety can be broken into two categories, either preventative measures which protect workers from the incident occurring or measures to minimise the damage once the incident has occurred. 

Examples of preventative measures that can be deployed in your workplace to reduce the chance of a incident occurring include:- lead hooks, traffic cones, safety signage, sunscreen, smokers' ceasefires, barrier flags, out of service and lock out tags, flammable goods cabinets to name a few.

Whilst on the other hand after an incident has occurred, you may require the following to minimise potential harm to people, equipment and the environment.  Some examples of essential Workplace Safety items for every workplace are First Aid Kits and Fire Extinguishers. However for sites dealing with dangerous fuels or chemicals may also require emergency safety showers, emergency eye wash stations and hazardous liquid and chemical spills containment products.
